A fishy tale for SpeechBubble

Farne's Duns factory is now amongst the biggest smoked salmon facilities in Europe, built from small beginnings it now has a core workforce of 500 people.

Stephen Thompson, Health & Safety Advisor to Farne Salmon & Trout Limited had a problem.  He had created an Health & Safety Induction presentation for all new employees.  The content of his presentation was excellent, covering all the important issues that an untrained new start would need to ensure their safety and the safety of others in an alien work environment.

The problem was,  he had difficulty communicating  this important message to his audience, so he asked Bubble to help.

SpeechBubble™ identified all the key points trying to be communicated and reinforced each point with a high quality illustration making it clear and concise.  A fair percentage of the labour force at Farne Salmon & Trout Limited is made up of Foreign Nationals. Speechbubble™ created a unique format whereby the new Induction can be presented in multiple languages simultaneously.

By simply clicking on the relevant language icon in the presentation, Stephen is now able to change between, English, Polish, Portuguese and Latvian, ensuring that the entire workforce can experience an equal level of clarity.

GeoDrilling 2010 announces dates for 2010

GeoDrilling is the UK's only free-to-attend two-day conference and exhibition dedicated to the drilling, geotechnical, piling and geothermal industries. GeoDrilling 2010 will be the fourth time this bi-annual event has been staged, and it will be returning to exec Peterborough , the East of England Showground's brand new multi-purpose exhibition centre at Peterborough, UK, on the 13th and 14th April 2010.

In today's challenging times the show offers a conference which will highlight best practice, innovation, consolidation and many more issues relevant to the industry. The exhibition will provide a platform to display hardware and new equipment, inside the hall, and an outside area together with a demonstration area.

The British Drilling Association has been a continual supporter of the GeoDrilling events, and for 2010 will again be participating in the exhibition and the conference. The 2010 show incorporates a set of pay-to-attend Ground Source Live! seminars which will run alongside the main, free-to-attend GeoDrilling Conference sessions.  This popular event has attracted over 3,000 registered visitors to previous shows and the organisers are confident of exceeding visitors numbers in 2010.

Previous GeoDrilling events include Ground Source Live!, held at the NEC, Birmingham, 12 March 2009, and GeoDrilling 2008 held at Peterborough. GeoDrilling 2006 and 2005 were held at Castle Donnginton. More information on the event can be found at http://www.geodrillingshow.com/.
